~Two Things Thursday~

1. I have a chest cold :( Man it sucks! Coughing feels so weird on the belly and of course I can't take anything for it. Here's hoping it doesn't stick around for too long.

2. We (hubby) had a bit of a cooking disaster earlier this week. He was making homemade chicken soup one night and forgot to turn off the stove before going to bed. Needless to say we woke up to a disgusting smell, which turned out to be chicken carcass burned to a crisp! Now our entire house reeks of this burned, rancid chicken smell. Since I can't smell, I am even more paranoid about it because I can't tell for myself how bad it actually is! Hubby says it is nasty, which doesn't reassure me! We have tried airing out the house (Thank God it happened this week when it's warmer outside than last week when it was -38C!) and cleaned all surfaces on the main floor with a baking soda/water mixture (other than the couches and rug). Hubby says that definitely helped- except some surfaces have this noticeable white film all over them! Ahhhhhhhh!! It's such a disaster and I hope it goes away soon! This might be why I don't cook...

  2. Oh geez you poor thing! I guess the upside of not being able to smell is you are spared the burnt nastiness. Hope you feel better soon!

  3. J burned something? I'm surprised. And this is one time you should be happy you can't smell. BTW, I tagged you. http://keithsodyssey.blogspot.com/2012/01/2x11-again.html

  4. Keith, this is one time I'M happy she can't smell. I'm sure I'd be in a lot more hot water if she could smell how gross it is in the house... I'm off to put out bowls of vinegar...

  5. I had a nasty lung infection at the end of my first pregnancy and my best advice is to drink lots of hot water (it feels nice) and to always hug a big pillow when you have to cough. It helps sooooo much!

  6. Ugh, the worst time to get sick is while pregnant or breastfeeding. I learned just how useless tylenol can be. Hope you feel better soon!
