Audrey: 9 months

8 months
7 months

Sleep- After 3 horrible sleeping weeks away on vacation, we seem to be making progress in the sleep department. Yay for only 2-3 wake ups a night! Naps are still great-- one nap is usually 1 hour and another is usually 2 hours.

Eating- Still loves eating! Still doing a combination of purees and whatever we are eating for dinner. She has enjoyed Thai and Indian food so she seems to have inherited her parents love for different dishes... so far. We are still breastfeeding regularly, although it has decreased to about 4-5 times a day, and 2-3 times a night. We have given a few bottles of formula on evenings when I am not home at bed time and she seems to take it without a problem so that gives Mom a bit of freedom!

Milestones- Another big month for teeth! She got 3 teeth (two top and one bottom) in less than a week when we were in Phoenix! It was hell but we all survived! She just got her 4th bottom tooth this week so she now has 8 teeth.

Playing- Troublemaker! I had to send one of the floor plants to hubby's office since she was eating dirt and wood chips. We also had to install locks on several cabinets to keep Audrey safe and sober!

She loves to pull up on anything and I have to watch her like a hawk. She has even tried to climb a couple stairs.

Talking- She has been babbling for a few months now. Her most recent "words" are babababa, mama mama, dadadada. She also likes to blow bubbles & give raspberries.

Eyes- Audrey's eyes have been changing since she was about 6 months. She started off with blue eyes but they started to get darker blue/grey around 5-6 months. Sometimes there were gold flecks around the iris but other days they would go back to being dark blue/grey. They seem to change depending on the lighting-- green, hazel, grey, blue... At her 9 month appointment, the Doctor said "she looks like she will be keeping her grey eyes." I guess only time will tell what colour her eyes end up being. Maybe they will just change like a kaleidoscope depending on the day and her mood.

Weight/Clothing- Turns out weighing Audrey on a regular scale at home is not the most accurate method! Last month before we went to Phoenix I weighed her at home and estimated her to be 17.5 lbs. Turns out she is only 16.8 lbs (15th percentile). She is 28 inches (50th percentile) and her head is 41cm.   She has been staying on her growth curves so no concerns there. Long and lean!
She is still wearing 6-12m clothes. I think it will be awhile before she grows out of them.
She wears size 3 shoes. The 6-12m Robeez are still quite big on her.
I did however exchange the 12-18m snowsuit I bought her for 18-24m. I want to make sure it lasts all winter which could likely end up until May 2013 around here!

Personality- Curious, drama queen, adorable, and social butterfly

Miscellaneous- We are getting ready for Audrey's first Christmas! Outfits picked, decorations are going up, baking in progress and a trip to see Santa is in the works. We are so excited to share our family traditions with Audrey and start some new ones.

Audrey's Current Favourite Things- Milo (although his tolerance is reaching his limits, dirt, Tupperware, crumbs on the floor, Milo's food & water (which we moved after she bathed in it a couple times), and Daddy!

** Today, December 5th, 2012, also marks Audrey's "Out As Long As She Was In" day. Meaning she has been alive for 40 weeks, 5 days; the same amount of time I was pregnant for. Sigh-- time really is flying by.

  1. Haha - isn't it funny how we say 2-3 wake ups a night is a GOOD night. When most other people I talk to have 1 or no wake ups! The other night I had 6. She's killin me...

Love your Audrey update format - I may have to steal it as I can't seem to think for myself these days! ;-) not enough energy.
