.:Leo: 7 Months:.

Eating: Leo is enjoying solids. So far he hasn't been a huge fan of the purees I've made him- he prefers either store bought purees or chunks of food.

New foods this month:
- yams- fries and pureed- he wasn't in love with them, unless mixed with something else, like pears
- ribs- LOVED gnawing on the bones!
- blueberries- loves these
- hummus- LOVED this except it gave him a rash on his face. Probably too acidic so I'm going to mash some chickpeas for him and see if he likes them
- apple- he loves chewing on a slice
- peaches- enjoyed them in the mesh feeder. Too slippy for his hands

He's still nursing every 2-3 hours a day. I'm trying to get him to feed more during the day, to reduce how much he eats at night.

Sleeping: Hasn't changed too much from last month. He is still waking 2-3x a night. I did try sleep training 2 weeks ago but he caught a cold so I couldn't let him cry when he wasn't feeling well. The sleep training was going well (Sleep Easy, weaning night feeds) so hopefully in another week we can start over. I'm sure just in time for him to cut some more teeth and derail us again!

Naps are more scheduled and in the crib, unless we are out. He naps 3x a day. He's usually awake for 2-2.5 hours before needing a nap, and often a bit longer between his last nap and bedtime. Sometimes it's hard because he will be ready for bed and I'm either making dinner and eating.

Diapers: Size 2 pampers swaddles although he is mostly in cloth diapers right now, except night time. I think the new detergent is working well but I find with cloth diapers it takes a few weeks to notice any difference either way.

Weight/Size: Leo hasn't been weighed in a few weeks but a couple weeks ago at his vaccination appointment he was 14 lbs, 13 oz. and 26 inches. He's back up to the 3rd percentile for weight and still at the 15th for length.

Leo is wearing mostly 3-6 month and 6 month clothing. His feet are growing too. Not exactly sure of size but they are 4 inches long. Waiting for his Minimocs to arrive in the mail!

Hair and eyes: Brown hair, what he has of it, and blue eyes. I do feel like his eyes are changing but apparently no one else sees it. I guess time will tell what colour they end up being.

Leo's eczema is worse now. It seems to get better and then it flares up again. He's been wearing a hazel wood necklace for the last couple of weeks but I haven't noticed a major difference. Still using the Glaxal Base 2x a day and the prescription cream when needed. I'm also trying to cut gluten from my diet to see if that makes a difference. It's hard though! We are going to see a naturopath to see what she suggests. He's scratching himself so much (note his face).

Leo has a little birth mark on his left inside forearm. It's red and looked like a scratch at first but it's gotten a bit bigger overtime. The doctor confirmed it's a birth mark.

You can see the birthmark here

Milestones: Rolling, sitting up, playing with and eating his toes, babbling and screeching all the time. He says mamamama but I'm sure it's not directed at me.

While he isn't crawling yet, he loves to "inch worm" on his back. He digs his heels into the ground and scootches himself upwards. He usually runs into things which frustrates him.

Teething: Still just 2 teeth. I think he is going to cut one or two more fairly soon but it could still be awhile.

Personality: He's so happy! He's a joy to be around.

Nicknames: Little Man, Munchkin, Mr. Leo, Lovey, Baby Brother, Buddy, Goofball

Likes: Eating solids, people talking to him, sitting in the high chair at the table, splashing in the water, the Ergo, jumperoo, being tickled and playing peek-a-boo.

Dislikes: dirty diapers, teething, being alone, falling over, sleeping, the pack'n play

Mommy Update: Things are better than they were last month so that's reassuring. I don't feel as stressed about Leo's weight. I still need to see the Doctor about weaning off of Domperidone. I'm going to slowly start working out again.

Big Sister: Audrey and Leo adore one another! She can't wait to see him when he wakes up and she gets so concerned when he's crying. I just love seeing them together and all the hard moments are worth the sweet moments the two of them share.

Audrey is now a big girl and no longer wears diapers. We did the 3-day potty training method. It worked fairly well so will likely do it with Leo when it's his turn.

Misc: Leo was baptized this month! It was a nice gathering to celebrate him. He looked so adorable in his jumpsuit and hat!

Leo has really changed from a small baby to a growing boy. He is moving so much more, chatting all the time and laughing often. I love seeing his sweet personality come out each day. I wish time would slow down and keep him little longer but I'm happy that he is doing well and his weight isn't a concern anymore.

  2. Sooo cute!! Can't believe our babies are 7 months (well mine will be this weekend)! Look at his feet!! They look bigger!! I don't feel like Noah's feet are growing!! No shoes fit!! Does he not know he has quite the shoe collection!! Poor Leo and that excema!! My excema is bad right now too!
We haven't found Noah's birthmark yet!
I really need to get on the baptism planning! Thinking maybe October since September is a write off!
Noah is hit and miss with the sitting! Sometimes he loves it and other times he won't do it! He also won't do tummy time and just rolls over! Not sure how to deal with that!
Love that pic if A and L!!
So glad his weight is back on track! He's heavier than Noah! Noah was 14.11 last week! Noah is a smidge taller though.
