Another wonderful year of marriage has passed! Amazed how quickly time is going by- it really feels like yesterday we were preparing for this magical day and yet so many life changing moments have occurred since that day 9 years ago!

We've been through a lot- we have been on so many adventures and rode the highs and the lows together. Every year we get stronger together!

So happy to be on this adventure called life with this guy by my side! He is so supportive, always encouraging me to reach for the moon and work towards my dreams! He is my biggest cheerleader and never doubts me. I'm not sure what I did to deserve him- he makes me want to be a better person every day!

I could not have dreamed of a better husband, partner and father! I knew he was pretty stellar when I married him and he has proved every year to be more and more perfect for me!

Love you babe!

~Audrey: 3.5 Years~

Sleep: Audrey sleeps pretty well most nights. Occasionally she wakes up asking for water or rub her sore leg (growing pains?). She likes to test the limits on going to bed though. She will take her sweet time if you let her and often there are tears but it is getting better.

Audrey doesn't usually nap anymore. Sometimes, after a busy morning she will fall asleep in the car and transfer to her bed.

Eating: She is entering a picky stage- very vocal about what she does and doesn't like! And if you run out of an ingredient of whatever she is currently demanding- she lets you know she is not impressed! She does eat a variety of food so we generally can't complain.

Eyes: Green/Hazel

Hair: Her hair is slowly getting longer and super curly in the back. We are growing out her bangs. She is starting to be more willing to have braids or pony tails put in it although often she wants to "wear it long"- nothing in it.

Playing: Audrey loves puzzles, crafts, colouring, reading, playing with her dolls and all her brother's toys. She does a lot of imaginative play with her dolls and stuffies. Unfortunately she fights a lot with her brother over toys and he fights back.

Talking: Her language skills are amazing. It never ceases to amaze us what she talks about and how well she comprehends everything.

Weight/Clothing: She hasn't been measured recently so I'm guessing she is around 35lbs and 42 inches?. She is definitely tall because all her dresses and pants are shrinking! She is wearing size 3T-5T clothes. She wears size 8-9 shoes.

Audrey still loves to pick her outfit each day- almost always a dress, sometimes a skirt and rarely pants! She also wears dress-up ballgowns almost daily, to the dayhome, the zoo, grocery shopping, etc. Every day is dress-up day!

Personality: Very strong-willed and sassy!! She is coming out of her shy shell and will talk anyone's ear off that will listen. She's a leader and wants people to do what she wants them to do!

Current Favourite Things: Her dolls, My Little Pony, Frozen, stuffies, books, crafts, dress-up clothes, purses and necklaces, playing at the beach in the sand and water, riding her bike, going to the park, going to the Zoo, eating ice cream or any sweets

Dislikes: Being dirty, being told what to do, not being allowed to watch 37 hours of TV a day, having her hair washed, getting ready for bed.

Big Changes: The biggest change was starting a new dayhome when I went back to work just after she turned 3. She loves it there and often doesn't want to leave when I come to pick her up! She does crafts every day, works on her writing, and drawing. The provider is the sweetest lady and both kids love her. They have adjusted well to my part-time return to work which is a big relief.

She has been very healthy-- a couple minor colds in the winter but her asthma has been under control and we haven't needed to use the inhalers for a long time.

Audrey is not enjoying having to share with Leo now that he is fully mobile and doesn't passively let her take things away from him! She does adore him still and is so proud to introduce people to her "baby".

I'm amazed at how quickly this sweet girl is growing up! Each day she surprises us with what she does, knows and what a wonderful little girls she is becoming!

We love you to the moon and back, baby girl!

~Weekend Recap~

We are officially on vacation now! Well, I am- hubby was supposed to be but he has to go in 2 days this week for a court case.

Since I'm on vacation, I made Audrey make breakfast for her and Leo. Cinderella, Cinderella!

On Thursday we had Leo's 18 month Doctor check up. He passed with flying colours- he is ~23 lbs and ~31 inches. Around the 15th% for both. Growing well!

Afterwards we met up with some friends at the Calgary Farmer's Market. I haven't been there since they changed locations- so many shops! We bought a few groceries and had lunch there.

Audrey and I made puzzles while Leo napped.

This guy was very cuddly all weekend!

Friday we met up with Alison and Leigh and their girls. We were originally going to go to the wading pool at Riley Park but considering that it was so cold and actually snowed a bit in the afternoon, that wasn't happening! Instead we went to an indoor play area close by and let the kids wander freely while we socialized!

Saturday I met up with a few running friends for a 10K run. Hubby and I are taking turns running on Sundays with the half marathon group so when a few friends wanted to get their runs in on Saturday I jumped at the chance for company. I've been struggling with my runs lately- just not feeling motivated to push myself and not really enjoying them so I knew this would help keep me going.

It was nice to catch up with Nikki and Tiffany and the time went by quickly!

Afterwards I played a lot with Leo- he loves finger puppets!

My mom came over for dinner to watch the kids while we went out for my besties' birthday party. I failed to take any pictures!

Sunday morning hubby went for his long run. I had a couple moments of peace while these 2 coloured nicely but it didn't last long!

In the afternoon Audrey and I went on an adventure- shopping and lunch. We haven't had a lot of quality alone time together, doing fun things so it was nice to get out just the 2 of us! We will have to make sure we do it more often! (Although I could have done without the meltdown over Doc McStuffins at Toys 'R Us).

And yes, she is wearing pants! She chose her own outfit too! Perhaps we are expanding our wardrobe parameters and she will actually wear half the clothes that she owns!

We went to Grandma and Grandpa's for dinner and then home for a quiet evening. So looking forward to having a break from work and getting lots of family time!

~Toronto Girls Weekend~

I had the best girls weekend away! I haven't had a girls trip in awhile, almost 2 years exactly. I was also pregnant with Leo so it was a different trip... running Seawheeze!

My bestie was in Toronto for work and staying the weekend to visit her family so she suggested I come join her! Genius idea!!

My flight was around noon on Thursday. It sure was easy to pack only for myself! And yes, I brought the big suitcase despite the fact that I was only going for 4 days!

My lovely hosts picked me up from the airport and we drove to their house for a relaxing evening. The theme of the weekend was wine! We enjoyed a lot of it!

Friday we went shopping. We went to the premium outlets first, which is just like a lot of outlet malls I've been to in the U.S.

We spent some time and money in Kate Spade. So many pretty things!! I wanted them all! I really wanted this pink purse with a bow on the front but I resisted!

I ended up picking out this black beauty! I needed a neutral bag!

I spotted Tory Burch and HAD to go in! I found a nice pair of flats that I had been eyeing for a few years! They were on major sale so I had to buy them! It would have been a crime to leave them behind!

After a few hours at the Outlets (we had to stop once at the car to drop off our bags!), we headed down to Bloor Street for more shopping!

First we stopped for drinks and lunch at Sassafraz! Delicious!!

The Toronto humidity did nothing for my hair- it was curly when I did it in the morning!

We continued shopping on Bloor Street- although it was mainly 'window shopping' for me!
We looked at some very expensive shoes! Some day I will own a pair of those red soled shoes!
One of the shorter heeled pairs...

It started raining like crazy while we walking outside so we took shelter under an awning. Not that my hair wasn't already destroyed!

The damage done by 4 women on a mission! We did our part boosting the Canadian economy!

L and I went for a run before dinner- that humidity is awful! We did 3K and we were soaking wet when we were done! Happy that we got some exercise in- to offset all the delicious food and wine!

We had another great dinner and then watched Interstellar in their movie room. Such a relaxing Friday night after a busy day on our feet!

Saturday morning I met my Dad for breakfast! It was so nice to see him!

A perfect example of how humidity and my hair don't work together:

Afterwards we headed to Canada's Wonderland, an amusement park for the day. I'm not huge into rides so spent most of our time at the Water Park. It was another hot and humid day so it was perfect.

The best water slide!!! It was so much fun!

We did NOT go on this roller coaster! I value my life!

Playing some games

You are not allowed to bring any food into the park, only water. So we had to have funnel cake for lunch... We ordered 2 of them but 1 would have been sufficient for the 4 of us! It was so good though!

Waiting in line for the one non-water park ride we went on- Thunder Run! I screamed a lot!

That night we ordered in an amazing dinner and enjoyed some drinks, wine and champagne! We had cake to celebrate L's upcoming birthday. Everything was so delicious! I'm sure I gained 10 lbs while I was away!

Sunday we just relaxed and hung out since our flight was at 1pm. L flies a lot so we had access to the Maple Leaf Lounge after we went through security.

Lunch and a glass of wine!

Once we were flying, we decided we had to have some sparkling wine with our Mac n Cheese! Couldn't resist that gold bottle!!

We arrived around 3:15pm (yay time change!) and my little family met me at the airport!! I was so excited to see them!! Both kids came running up to me and hugged my legs so I think they missed me too! They had a great time with Daddy, who did an excellent job keeping them alive! ;)

They loved their presents I brought back for them too!

It was such an amazing weekend! It felt so good to just relax, have no responsibilities and spend time with good friends! I seriously forgot what it felt like to just have to take care of me for a few days! Of course, I did miss them like crazy and I'm glad to be back cuddling with them!!
