~Reflection of 2016~

This year was amazing!! It certainly had it's lows but the highs far outweigh any sadness or disappointment that we experienced.

When I think back to almost exactly a year ago (technically still 2015), we put an offer in on my dream house (or what I thought was my dream house). After some back of forth, and then no response, we didn't get it. We did however start seriously looking for a new house. And now, a year later, we are settled into our new house that is perfect for us and are ready for all the adventures that 2017 will bring us!

Some highlights of this year:

January

New Year... time to hit the workouts! Looking back, the month wasn't super eventful but I sure worked hard at reaching my fitness goals, doing a Beachbody Challenge Group with Alison.

I also found this photo from a fun mommy-daughter date that Audrey and I had!

February

We celebrated two very special birthdays!

Leo turned two!

Audrey turned four!

We had a fun joint party for them!

March

I did the Run for L'Arche 5 Miler with a few friends.

My sis and I went for a weekend trip to Canmore to go to the spa- our Christmas present to each other!

April

A sweet friend came into town and she convinced me to try a Barre class with her! It was hot and sweaty but I really enjoyed it! I especially enjoyed seeing her!

Our family welcomed a new member, my nephew Lukas!

May

Hubby and I went to New York to celebrate our 10th anniversary!

Running in Central Park

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge

Anniversary dinner at Nobu

A trip to Tiffany's

June

After months of house hunting, 3 unsuccessful offers, we decided to list our house. It sold in 2 days!

We also spent a lot of time at the soccer field watching Audrey play. Even if Leo was more interested in kicking the ball than his sister!

July

We bought a new house so the mad packing began.

Hubby and I ran the 10K Stampede Road Race.  My sister did the 5K and the Audrey and Leo did the kids races.

My sis and I
Ange and I at the finish line!
Leo's first race
Audrey racing with Auntie
August

We went to Slave Lake on the long weekend for a family reunion.

We moved to our new house at the beginning of August.

I went to Vancouver with my bestie to run Seawheeze!

September

We find out we are expecting baby #3!!

We also spent a lot of time exploring our new neighbourhood and Griffith Woods.

October

I went to Las Vegas for the Rodan + Fields convention!

November

I had a quiet month as I attempted to survive terrible all.day.sickness.

But seeing this sweet baby on the ultrasound at 12 weeks was worth it all!

December

We spent the last month of the year getting ready for Christmas. Lots of parties and Christmas events.

We decided to get a tree from a tree lot this year since it was too cold to go cut down our own.

My full Engelmann Spruce tree (not a Balsam fir like I thought but FULL is what I wanted!) I loved it's fullness but it shed so many needles!!

Christmas Day

Christmas Day bump

Audrey had a her first week of ski lessons at Winsport (COP). She rocked it!

Leo tried skiing with Daddy for the first time! He loved it but was too impatient! He wanted to go on the steeper runs right away!

We went tobogganing a few times on the hills by our house. The kids love it! All this snow is good for something!

These are only a few highlights of 2016!!  It was hard to narrow it down! I feel so lucky to have had such a great year and I know that while 2017 will be different, it will full of adventures and a new baby!!

Happy New Year!!!

~Christmas Eve & Christmas Day 2016~

Christmas was so much fun this year! The kids were so excited to celebrate and for Santa to come! I love that we get to see a lot of our family over two days and eat so much delicious food!

It most certainly was a White Christmas this year! It was snowing all day Christmas Eve! I was happy that we hosted Christmas Eve with my family, so we didn't have to leave the house! We kept it casual with appetizers and desserts and there was no shortage of food! So full!

My family indulged me with a group photo-- one serious

...and one not so serious!

We managed to get a photo of all the girls... and Leo!

Ok Mom, one photo and then present time!

Leo lost his mind over some Paw Patrol. Good job Auntie!

Audrey had a minor meltdown since her present from my sister was small. She asked for a necklace for Christmas but apparently it would have been more appealing if it was wrapped in a big box, like Leo's gift!

Grandma gave her a gift that came in a larger box and she calmed down. Personally, I like the small boxed gifts...

Thrilled with her Princess Celestia pony!

Annual tradition of Santa's elves bringing us all matching pjs. Obviously the kids aren't as excited about this tradition as I am.

My sister gave me this frame to add to my Christmas decor. I love it!

Saying good night to Grandma. Easiest bed time ever!

Family tradition from hubby's childhood- reading Twas the Night Before Christmas

My family didn't stay too late- everyone but my Mom, who was staying over, left by 11pm. But by the time we cleaned up, stuffed stockings, put together a few toys and visited with my Mom, it was 1am! Oops!

The kids slept in till 7:30am which I know is amazing for most parents but it was still too early for me! The diclectin knocks me out so we held them off from going downstairs by watching Paw Patrol for half an hour before practically dragging me out of bed.

Playing at the bottom of the stairs waiting patiently for Mommy.

Finally allowed into the living room! Checking out all the presents under the tree!

Heading straight for the stockings! They didn't even notice their Santa gifts already set up! Audrey got an Art easel and Leo got a hot wheels track.

Audrey immediately dumped hers out!

Excitedly showing me her new nail polish!

Before we launched into gifts, we posed for our traditional PJ photo.

Audrey wanted to open her huge gift first. It was a doll bunk bed that hubby made for her and she helped paint it. She was very excited!

Elsa was immediately tucked in.

The fancy gloves, crown and cape were a huge hit!

Leo was actually excited to get dino and digger books!

Didn't take long before Leo's dinosaur was attacking the Paw Patrol pups.

But he is teaching his dino good dental hygiene.

He also enjoyed modelling my new wallet/clutch!

We were all thoroughly spoiled!

We had breakfast and the kids played with their new toys while I had a nap!

In the early afternoon, we headed to Grandma and Grandpa's for Christmas dinner with the other side of the family. We had to skip Leo's nap to get there in time so he only had a short 20 minute nap in the car. He was very cuddly when we arrived.

All the people wearing red!

The brothers coincidentally wore blue shirts!

We opened presents before dinner, which the kids were thrilled for round 3!

More craft supplies!

Dino Trux fan!

Airplanes!

Baby cousin Lukas!

The girls playing peekaboo!

Auntie and Lukas

Grandparents and Grandbabies!

Playing cars with Uncle

Wasn't too hard convincing Uncle to read to them

We had a delicious turkey dinner and too many sweets for dessert. I'm still full!

It was so special to be able to spend so much time with both our families! I really do love our Christmases. I love being able to share so many traditions with our children and create new ones with them!

Merry Christmas!!
