:Welcome Henry Alexander:

Our family became complete with the arrival of our sweet little BOY:

 Henry Alexander!

He entered our world on May 25, 2017 at 7:35am, 3 days past his due date.
Successful VBAC.

He is our biggest baby, weighing in at 7 lbs, 2 oz. and 20 inches long.
He was born with a head full of dark hair.

Our hearts are absolutely filled with love for our newest little man and we can't wait to watch him grow with our family.

Birth story, more photos and Henry updates are sure to come!

For now, I am savouring all the newborn snuggles I can since they grow too fast!

~Our May Long Weekend~

Our May Long weekend this year was pretty low key since it was my due date! Didn't want to make too many plans in case baby had already arrived or came partway through.

Audrey had the day off preschool on Friday so we had a a lunch date downtown with Daddy. He took us to Red's Diner which was sooooo good!! I love a good brunch place so we will definitely be coming here again-- especially since they are so accommodating with children.

This is Leo, eating his kale garnish.

Trying to get these two to pose for a picture...

Saturday we headed to the garden store to buy flowers for our front gardens and flower pots.

It was a bit chaotic with these two wanting all the flowers but they helped pick a bunch to plant.

Audrey wants to adopt all the blooms that had fallen on the ground.

Sunday morning we took it easy. The kids did some colouring.

The boys made us waffles-- how it should always be ;)

Then they got to work outside-- planting and then watering.

No surprise that Leo loves to play in the dirt.

I just tried to stop from melting in the sun and heat. I feel for those women who are pregnant in the summer.

That evening after it cooled down, we went for a nice long walk/bike ride for Leo. Maybe a long walk would kick start labour like it did for Audrey? Not this time.

Such a gorgeous evening! I can't get over how beautiful this community is.

Monday morning, Victoria Day we stayed close to home. We enjoyed our backyard from morning to night.

Hubby found and built me a storage bench for the deck so we can store the patio furniture cushions inside.

Or force children to do their homework inside... I swear she did this all on her own. She loves spelling!

My in-laws came over for a visit. We went for another nice walk in Griffith Woods before lunch time.

Who is this teenager and where is my 5 year old?

Colouring with Grandma

We put the men to work on the landscaping.

We didn't have a baby on the weekend but it was good nonetheless! Sometimes it's nice to take it slow and just enjoy being at home rather than rushing around. Something we better get used to once baby #3 comes!

We were so lucky to have such gorgeous weather since many May long weekends that I remember were cold and/or snowy. And to think next May long weekend we will have an almost 1 year old!

Do you have any May long weekend traditions?

~Baby N #3: 39 Weeks~

How big is Baby N#3?

Baby is the size of a beach ball! That feels fairly accurate!! I definitely feel like I have a giant ball in my belly! Baby is approximately 19.75 inches long and 7.25 lbs.

Movement?
Baby has been moving around a lot this week! Which is kind of uncomfortable feeling at this point. I can feel it skimming its limbs along my hip bones, feet are sticking out the side, lots of cervix punches. Maybe it's trying to escape!

How I'm feeling?
I really can't complain. Other than my belly feeling heavy and my body is sore/tired after a lot of walking, I feel great. I am ready to meet the baby but I'm also not at the desperate "get this baby out of me" stage that so many women experience. I feel very lucky that I feel this good this far along. I also think it helps that I'm off work so 3 days a week I genuinely get a good break and can go at my own pace.

On one hand, I am so excited to meet the baby but I'm also a bit sad that I won't ever be pregnant again and anticipating a new baby of my own again. This pregnancy went by so quickly-- had lots of good moments and a few that I could have done without (never ending morning sickness and the breech situation) but in the end it is all worth it and I'm just grateful to have had this opportunity again and to be having a healthy baby.

Sleep?
Pregnancy insomnia is starting to kick in a bit. I wake up a lot more either because it takes so much effort to roll over, I am too hot or I have to pee. I did have some contractions one night that I thought might be something but just some false labour.

Hubby has been turning on some meditation app at night that quickly puts us both to sleep.

I've also been napping during the day often. I find by mid afternoon I'm ready to recharge- especially if I've done a lot of walking in the morning.

Highlights?
It was an uneventful week which is nice for once! Spending lots of time with the kids and having 6 days mostly to myself has been a nice break. I feel completely ready for the baby, other than some nerves about having another child to care for!

Looking Forward to?
Absolutely meeting this baby!

Baby Purchases & Projects?
The crib has been set up in our room. A lot of to-do items have been checked off my list so I feel ready for baby to come but I'm also not in a huge rush either. I'm enjoying time with our family of 4, some me-time, and the gorgeous weather. I know this baby will come when it's ready.

Baby Bump

39 weeks exactly

** Since I usually post these updates a week behind, I am officially 40 weeks today!! Full term baby!! A month ago I didn't think I would make it to this day (with all the breech drama) so I am happy to have reached this milestone on baby's time!

~Currently: May 2017~

Currently: we are on baby watch! The text messages and phone calls are rolling in as we approach the due date! Everyone is getting excited for the baby!

What else am I up to?

Reading: I have a a few books on my night stand that I am not reading quite yet! I haven't really had the urge to read lately. I figure I will get to them when I'm nursing for hours on end in a couple weeks.

Loving: all the flowers that we picked up at the garden centre this weekend to plant in our front garden bed and planters. Hubby has grand landscaping plans for our new house so we probably won't get around to planting a vegetable garden this year but I am just as happy with lots of pretty flowers.

Admiring: how grown up these two seem these days!! Audrey looks and acts like a teenager! They can be challenging some days or moments but overall they are such great kids that we are lucky to have as ours.

Enjoying: as much time as we can outside and on fun adventures while we can. Zoo dates, lots of walks, and special time alone with each child before we begin this huge transition to a family of 5.

Proud: of this big sister who I know will adore her new baby brother or sister. She is so ridiculously helpful with her brother already- she helps buckle him into his car seat, put his shoes on, reminds him about the potty (still a work in progress), is working on a chore chart to earn some things that she really wants. She was so excited to bring her sugar bowl that she painted a couple weeks ago on our date to preschool in the "Mystery Box." I just love her!

Rocking: all the comfy leggings and dresses. Audrey asked me why I wear leggings as pants the other day! Because 9 months pregnant sweetie! Also, most of my shoes don't fit me right now so I keep trying to buy new shoes but that seems like a silly idea when my feet will likely go back down in size once the baby is born! I really like these shoes and bought them anyway so my feet have 90 days to return to their normal size or else I'll have to return them.

Obsessed: with our maternity photos that Whitney took! She knocked it out of the park, as usual. The kids were pretty well behaved and the weather was perfect. I just need to find a couple more frames, decide which ones to print and then hubby can hang them. I might have to start another gallery wall because Whitney takes too many amazing photos! Tough problem to have!

Drinking: this new Kombucha from Truebuch which is amazing! I got the Very Berry flavour and it's hard to limit myself to one glass! This is tiding me over until I can have some wine and ciders once baby is born!

Crafting: a new wreath for our front door. I've been on the hunt for one for years so I've given up and will make one myself. Except I have no motivation to start on it. Audrey and I picked out a bunch of flowers and a wreath but that's it! Maybe some creative juices will flow once baby is here or I can get my ultra-creative husband to make it for me.

Eatings: lots of ice cream! I'm especially enjoying this Fiasco Gelato dark chocolate caramel sea salt I got on sale. Sometimes I add coconut and chocolate chips, just because. It goes down quite nicely with a cup of red raspberry leaf tea, which is good for toning the uterus. The ice cream is good for toning... nothing.

Savouring: this special time of anticipation of a new baby! There is absolutely nothing like this feeling of waiting to meet this new, sweet babe. Will it be a boy or a girl? What will he/she look like? How big will he/she be? WHEN will he/she finally arrive? It really is one of my favourite feelings in the world!

~ Baby N #3: 38 Weeks~

How big is Baby N#3?

Baby is the size of a toolbox! Hopefully not the size or weight of my husband's toolbox, which is huge! Baby is about 19.61 inches long and 6.8 lbs. Ok, that sounds more reasonable!

Movement?
I hope this baby doesn't come out a late night party animal the way that it currently is inside! I've had some moments during the day where I have to poke and prod the baby because I haven't felt movement in awhile but I think it just sleeps a lot during the day. Which is all normal.

How I'm feeling?
I feel good. I'm ready, mostly. I did have a few days of panicking after my ECV that baby had turned back to breech. I had myself completely convinced that I felt the head by my ribs again. Thankfully my lovely midwives immediately confirmed that baby just has a 'bony ass' and head is definitely down. I feel more confident now that baby is staying head down and it actually does feel quite different overall. My belly is so much lower now!

I'm officially more pregnant this time than I was with Leo, who was born at 38 weeks, 4 days.

Sleep?
It's hard to roll over but I'm sleeping pretty well for the most part. Especially naps.

Highlights?
The midwives confirming that baby is still head down. Such a relief!

Looking Forward to?
Meeting our baby! Introducing Audrey and Leo to their new sibling! Seeing what this baby looks like! Labour! The count down is really on.

Baby Purchases & Projects?
We are ready for you baby!! Auntie L stocked our freezer with muffins, energy balls, soups and a couple meals so you can come any time now! I've got a few things on my to-do list to keep me busy in case you do decide to stay in for a few more days.

~Baby N #3: Maternity Photos~

Since Whitney took so many amazing maternity photos of us, this post is mostly about the bump. If you want all the family fun, check this post

It's nearly impossible to narrow down the ones I love because I LOVE them all! I am so thankful that Whitney shares her talent and patience with us to capture these moments. Her eye for stunning light and the shot is just unbelievable! I know I can always trust her direction, not matter how awkward it might feel in the moment because she gets incredible photos like these!

I LOVE them all!! I am so going to miss this big bump when baby is here!! But I can't wait to meet him/her so it's a good compromise!
