:Henry:Five Months:

Five months, little Henry! Weren't you just born?

Eating: Henry sure likes to eat. During the day he nurses about every 2-3 hours. So far we haven't attempted to give him a bottle but that's been more of a scheduling issue.

Sleeping: Sleep regression is in full force. At night, he wakes every 2-3 hours, again like clockwork. Down between 6:30-7pm and wakes at 10pm, 12am, 2am, 4am and 6am. Needless to say, mama is exhausted.

Naps are generally going well, depending on the day of the week. He usually has a nap around 9:30-10am. Depending on the day, I either have to wake him up at 11:15am to take the big kids to school or he sleeps until 11:40 himself. He usually goes down for nap #2 around 1:45pm and on Tuesday/Thursday he has a good 2 hour nap because Audrey takes the bus home and I don't have to wake him for pickup. On Monday/Wednesday, we have our Mommy & Baby barre class so he naps in the car seat or in the carrier for a bit and then usually has a nap after we pick the kids up from school from 3:45-5:30pm. Poor kid just has to go with the flow since there isn't any other way around it.

Diapers: Size 2. He keeps having a lot of explosive diapers though (especially when in the car seat) so I might have to move him up a size, even though he just started fitting into the size 2 weight-wise? Either way, I'm soaking baby clothes like it's my job. Oh right, it is my job!

Weight/Size: Henry had his 4 month vaccinations last week and he weighted 14lbs, 14 oz and was 25 inches long. So he hasn't had his 4-6 month growth spurt yet but based on how much he is eating all the time it's going to happen soon! He's dropped percentages but neither the doctor or the nurse was concerned about it since it's across the board so he just hasn't hit that growth spurt yet. He feels like a tank to me!

He is wearing mostly 3-6 month clothes mainly. Size 2 Minimocs, which he lost one in the Toronto airport and I had to hunt down!!

Hair and eyes: Still dark brown/black hair, and hazel eyes.

Personality: Henry is a happy, chatty boy! He loves to engage with you and gives the biggest smiles to his siblings! He is definitely not going to be the forgotten 3rd child though-- he lets his voice be heard!

Nicknames: Baby Henry, Litte Man, Shnuggers

Likes: Being close to mama, sticking his hands in his mouth, or anything in his mouth, blow bubbles, his play mat, his activity centre and being dragged around by his sister.

Dislikes: Being in his carseat a lot, wet diapers, being alone, his crib lately.

Milestones: Henry has started rolling more and more, as of last week! He used to just stay put but he's getting more motivated. I also caught him ever so slightly inch worming himself on the carpet. Too soon!! He also popped 2 bottom teeth.

Mama: To be honest, this has been a tough month. Being on the go every day is hard on us all, plus we've had a lot of sickness in the household between colds and a stomach bug. I don't get a lot of down time which is hard but I know it's just a season and soon I'll be wishing for these days back. Next week will probably be better, right?

I've signed up for the next session of Mommy & Baby Barre since it works well for our schedule. I'm really enjoying the workout and it's nice to chat with other adults too. I've been pretty consistently working out 3-4x a week which is good for my mind and obviously my body.

Big Sister & Big Brother: Audrey is so good with Henry! She is the perfect little helper! She begs to hold Henry all the time and has started taking him out of his activity centre or off the play mat to hold him. She just adores him and keeps him entertained. She will also help with diaper changes-- getting the change pad and diapers for me and helping pull the tabs on the new diaper. She really wants to feed him a bottle so maybe one day she can help Daddy with that.

Leo can't wait for his brother to get a bit bigger to play with him! He can be a bit rough but not intentionally.

Misc: Henry had his first plane ride, to Toronto this month!! He was pretty good and barely made a fuss despite the big change in routine. Teething is in full force so that has made him a bit grumpier than usual but understandable. He is growing leaps and bounds every day.

We love you, Henry!
